- 3Click Convert to FLAC and download the result.
How much smaller is FLAC?
A CD-quality WAV takes about 10.6 MB per minute. As FLAC, the same audio usually takes 5 to 7 MB, depending on the material: quiet, sparse recordings compress more than dense, loud masters. A 60-minute album drops from about 635 MB to roughly 300 to 450 MB.
Because any FLAC decoder gives back the original samples, the FLAC can serve as your archive copy. You can delete the WAV once you've checked the FLAC plays.
