Question 1

How do I speed up audio without changing the pitch?

Accepted Answer

Leave Keep the pitch on. The audio gets faster or slower, but voices and instruments stay in the same key.

Question 2

What happens when Keep the pitch is off?

Accepted Answer

Speed and pitch change together, like playing a record at the wrong speed. Faster sounds higher and slower sounds deeper. This is how nightcore and slowed songs are made.

Question 3

How much can I speed up or slow down?

Accepted Answer

From 0.25x, a quarter of the original speed, up to 3x, in steps of 0.05. The tool shows the old and new length after processing.

Question 4

Will it sound natural?

Accepted Answer

Speech stays clear between about 0.75x and 1.5x. Further out, with Keep the pitch on, you start to hear a warbling or echo-like sound, because the audio is cut into short pieces that are repeated or skipped to change the length.

Question 5

Why save a faster copy instead of using my player's speed setting?

Accepted Answer

A saved file plays at the new speed everywhere: in a car, on a speaker, in a video editor or on a device with no speed control. That suits lectures, audiobooks and practice tracks.

Question 6

Can I change the speed of several files?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Drop them together and all of them get the same speed. The first download is free; the rest, and a ZIP of all of them, need Pro.

Question 7

Is my file uploaded?

Accepted Answer

No. The speed change runs in your browser and the file stays on your device.
