Question 1

How do I play a song backwards?

Accepted Answer

Drop the song and press Reverse. The whole file is flipped end to start, so it plays backwards from the last second to the first. You can listen right away and download it.

Question 2

How does the reverse singing challenge work?

Accepted Answer

Record yourself saying or singing a phrase and reverse it. Then try to copy the reversed sound, record that, and reverse your copy. If you copied it well, the original phrase comes back, a little garbled.

Question 3

Can I find hidden messages in a song?

Accepted Answer

Reversing is how people listen for backmasking, words recorded backwards on purpose. Most of what people hear in reversed songs is the brain finding words in random sounds, but a few songs do contain real backwards messages.

Question 4

If I reverse the file again, do I get the original back?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the order of the sound is restored. If you save as MP3 each time, the audio is compressed twice, so save the first reversed file as WAV if you plan to reverse it again.

Question 5

Can I reverse only part of a file?

Accepted Answer

This tool reverses the whole file. Cut the part you want with the Audio Trimmer first, then reverse that clip.

Question 6

Is my recording uploaded?
