Question 1

What is nightcore?

Accepted Answer

Nightcore is a song played faster and higher than the original, which gives it an energetic, high-pitched sound. The name comes from a Norwegian duo who released sped-up dance and trance songs in the early 2000s.

Question 2

What speed should I use?

Accepted Answer

Most nightcore edits are between 1.2x and 1.35x. The default of 1.25x raises the pitch by almost 4 semitones. Go up to 1.6x for a more extreme sound.

Question 3

Why does the pitch go up with the speed?

Accepted Answer

That is what makes it nightcore. The song plays faster the way a record does when you spin it faster, so the pitch rises with the speed. To speed a song up and keep its pitch, use the Audio Speed Changer.

Question 4

How much shorter will the song be?

Accepted Answer

The length is divided by the speed. At 1.25x, a 4:00 song becomes 3:12. The tool shows the old and new length after processing.

Question 5

Does it add a heavier beat or more bass?

Accepted Answer

No, it only changes speed and pitch. Run the result through the Bass Booster if you want more low end.

Question 6

Can I post a nightcore song on YouTube or TikTok?

Accepted Answer

A nightcore edit is still the original recording, so its copyright belongs to the song's owner, and platforms may block it or send a claim. Use songs you have the rights to.

Question 7

Is my music uploaded?

Accepted Answer

No. The nightcore version is made in your browser, so the song stays on your device.
